PSYCHIATRY NURSING

To help patients overcome mental disorders, psychiatric nurses are trained in crisis intervention, mental health, medication, and treatment. They work very closely with them to help them live the most productive and content lives they can. A psychiatric nurse will interview and check a new patient to learn about her symptoms, medical history, diseases, and daily activities. A psychiatric nurse helps people with anxiety disorders such as panic attacks and phobias, as well as mood disorders such as bipolar disorder and depression. A psychiatric nurse works together with her treatment team to develop a tailored plan that gives the patient the comprehensive  care and attention they need to live a productive life.
